Late in the afternoon of March 5, Williams was mowing the grassy shoulder of a one-lane private road in front of her house two miles uphill from Keauhou Bay, Big Island police said at the time. New Witmor Farms owner’s request on roads referred by county to Waynesville Mar 1, 2008
The road may still be a private road and the responsibility of the owner of Witmor Farms to repair and maintain; Farnham said the original alignment of Red Oak Road was changed by a former owner of Witmor Farms so he could put up some of the buildings that now exist at that location, and if that change wasn t approved by the county, the county has no responsibility for the road maintenance.
