    Tempe Union plans public meeting to discuss Corona, disability law  Aug 20, 2008
    Parents' concerns about children's health at Corona del Sol High have prompted Tempe Union High School District to host a public meeting today that will cover students' rights under a federal disability law. Linda Littell, a district spokeswoman, said the meeting to discuss Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act was scheduled at the request of parents. (AZCentral -- News)

    OCEANSIDE: Taking the long way around  Aug 4, 2008

Cain, managing attorney for the adult mental health unit of the Maryland Disability Law Center, said there is a low threshold to determine whether a defendant is competent to stand trial, including an understanding of how the legal process works and being able to assist in his defense. But she said that just because a defendant takes his medications and has been declared competent to make decisions about his medical care does not automatically mean that he can stand trial.
