Literary Lions Jul 3, 2006 Steve Fowle, the current editor of The Gazette and a collateral descendant of Daniel Fowle's who believes he is Daniel's "third cousin five times removed," wanted a way to honor his ancestor and the achievement of the paper. "I pointed out that the 250th anniversary was coming up and that we're publishing on the anniversary. It would be a shame not to mark that event somehow," he said. (Seacoast New Hampshire)
Robert E. Fulton Jr., an Intrepid Inventor, Is Dead at 95 May 11, 2004 He may have been a collateral descendant of the Robert Fulton who designed the first commercially successful steamboat, but according to one account, Mr. Fulton never bothered to check the genealogy.
